Medical Records - Health Information Management
Members of the medical staff are required to complete medical records within a reasonable time as may be prescribed by the Medical Executive Committee in the Medical Staff Rules and Regulations. The President of the Medical Staff or his/her designee shall impose a limited suspension in the form of withdrawal of admitting privileges until medical records are completed following notice of delinquency for failure to complete medical records within such period. Bona fide vacation or illness may constitute an excuse subject to approval by the Medical Executive Committee. Members whose privileges have been suspended for delinquent records may admit patients only in emergency situations. The suspension shall automatically be lifted upon completion of all such delinquent records.
Six suspensions within any 12 month period for failure to complete or prepare records will be deemed a voluntary resignation from the medical staff. Practitioners who so resign may immediately submit a formal application for re-appointment.
